Kathleen Stauffer is a graduate of Point Park University with a Master of Public Administration degree (M.P.A.) from the University of New Haven. She began her professional career as a journalist. In 2005 she was named president and publisher of the U.S. magazine division for the media firm Bayard Presse (France) later advancing to group publisher. She has executive experience in the for-profit and nonprofit sectors.

Kathleen joined The Arc New London County in 2009, facilitating in October 2010 a successful merger between The Arc and Seacorp, Inc.  She serves on the Human Services Coordinating Council for the Southeastern Connecticut Council of Governments (SCCOG) and was appointed to the Governor’s Cabinet on Nonprofit Health and Human Services by Governor Dannel P. Malloy. She sits on the Board of Directors of The Arc of the United States, the National Conference of Executives of The Arc (NCE), The Connecticut Community Providers Association, The Council of United Way Agency Executives and The Norwich Rotary Club. In 2011, Kathleen won NCE’s Rising Star Award. She was named Executive Director of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut in 2014.
